I finally got all of my Christmas shopping finished! I couldn’t believe that I found the ideal set of bead bracelets for the girls in my family at a restaurant. Yes I said ‘a restaurant.’ The other night I went to Popei’s in Sayville and there was a flea market being held inside the restaurant. I have never seen this done before and let me tell you the experience was a tad overpowering. There were vendors throughout the entire place selling all types of things from beads to blankets.
I am not a fan of crammed full areas and being stuck in one room with over a hundred people can take its toll on a person’s comfort level. With my own comfort aside though I managed to find my way through the enormous crowd and find the table with all of the beads. There were so many diverse bead bracelets to choose from I didn’t even know where to start. The woman selling the beads was eager to help me and showed me exactly what I needed as far as beads are concerned. Thank God because I detest to shop for anyone.
The beads I chose were, needless to say, adorable. For my kid sister I selected a bracelet with beads that had cartoon characters on it. The beads spanned in a variety of cartoon character designs ranging from Spongebob to Invader Zim. For my mother in law, a very boisterous Italian, I chose two bead bracelets. One bracelet is designed with beads that represent the Italian culture with flags, an Italian horn and a funny little macaroni shape. My wife’s mother loves horses so the other bracelet’s beads were all dissimilar horses.
The real challenge in my decision on beads was what to get for the wife. I decided to not get my wife the cheesy bead bracelets that I similarly got my mother in law and sister. The handiness of being able to buy those beads at the restaurant was epic. I hate to shop so to be able to walk in to a restaurant where I proposed to eat dinner, kills two birds with one stone.
